A Bus line

A very common scene in Hong Kong.  Just a bunch of people lining up quietly, neatly,  automatically, waiting and then getting onto a bus.  I happened to ran across it this morning.  But this scene is repeated thousands of times all over Hong Kong, every day, 365 days a year, year after year.  Nobody remarks on it because it is totally expected.  It would be remarkable only if it does not happen, if people fight to get on a bus, if people cut in line.

Yet I have not seen it happen in Mainland China.  Everywhere I go, in Xian, Beijing, …, nobody gets in line.  There is no way to do even if you want to do it, because nobody else would do it.

Such is the quality of the people in Hong Kong.  The result of years and years of education.  Seen in something as simple and commonplace as in a bus line.
