Steamed Rice Rolls

A plate of steaming-hot rice rolls stuffed with minced beef, washed down with a cup of milk tea, or a bowl of porridge.

My perfect “light” breakfast.

Some like them stuffed with shrimps, or Cha Siu.   My favourite remains minced beef.

The very thin rice-based batter is spread on a cloth in front of you.  The fillings are added.  The whole thing is steamed for a couple of minutes, separated from the cloth, and rolled up.

The plate of delicious rice rolls, made to order, costs around 18 Hong Kong dollars in some places. That is the equivalent of just over 2 US dollars.  Excellent value for the money.  One of the perks of living in Hong Kong.
