This is a canyon about 50 kilometers to the east of Santiago. It is just gorgeous - the changing hues of the mountains, the glorious shades of green, the giant cacti, the people riding horses, the green and muddy rivers mixing, the rushing rapids, ...
Perhaps we came at the right time, when summer was just gradually turning into winter. It was sunshine and clear blue skies every day - I heard they have 300+ days of sun each year over here. The temperature was perfect, about 20+ degrees during the day.
Perhaps it would be different if I were to actually try to make a living here, instead of just visiting. But for a moment, I wished time would stop and let me stay longer - it would have been perfect if my family were here.
