Solar-Power in Rwanda

Today we went to church, visited the Genocide Memorial in Kigali, and then a Genocide memorial site at Nyamata Church in Bugesera region.  Why do people commit such evil against each other?  Again and again?  When will we ever learn?

Then we came back to the AEE Headquarters to do some practical.  We tested using a set of solar panels to charge a motorcycle battery.  There are some minor technical issues to be resolved.  But it looks promising.  We are excited.

At 1,500 meters, Kigali’s altitude is quite high.  Consequently the temperature is not very high, at around 25 degrees.  It feels much more comfortable than in Hong Kong, even though the sun is very strong.  Hence it is a good place to make use of solar power.
